Green Kuan Yin

Meditating Kuan Yin—Goddess of Mercy.

Kuan Yin is widely known as the Goddess of Mercy in Buddhism. In many depictions of her, she is either standing atop the clouds, riding a dragon, or sitting in meditative repose. Often, she has with her a white vase that contains pure water. The water is the “divine nectar of life” that relieves suffering.

This smooth dark green pendant shows a meditative Kuan Yin sitting crossed legged holding her vase between her overlapping palms. The idea of wearing Buddhist deities is to remind the wearer of the principles that they represent and not as a form of idol worship. Only through the pursuit of enlightenment can one achieve nirvana and breakthrough the cycle of suffering.
