Prancing Qilin

$275.00

Prancing Qilin Dispels Misfortune.

Qilin is the Chinese version of a unicorn except it is more a chimera of different animals. It typically carries the fierce head of a lion with scaly bodies that resemble a dragon but on the frame of a horse or giraffe. During Chinese New Year’s, one often can find people performing the “lion dance” which is more based off the mythical qilin. It is thought to dispel evil and misfortune and bring good luck.

This beautifully mottled white Guatemalan jadeite piece depicts a prancing qilin with its head turned in a playful manner. Bring the good fortune into your life and protection against bad luck with this pendant amulet.
