Prosperity Dragon and Energy Orbs.
Dragons are symbols of power and prosperity in Chinese mythology. Depictions of them often have dragons soaring in the heavens. Sometimes pearls accompany them. These pearls or orbs—sometimes surrounded by flames—represent spiritual energy and hence enlightenment and immortality.
This green jade pendant details an ascending dragon and several dragon pearls floating beside it. Note the long whiskers that represent longevity and the scales on the mythical creature that brings the dragon to life in this carving, elevating it from simple jewelry to wearable art.
